This Side of West 15 Cover, by Stephanie Toth

This Side of West published three pieces of my writing in their 2017 issue. This included my short story, “Observations in a Burning House,” and two poems, “intervention” and “Family Anthropology.”

“intervention” recounts an encounter with a bird that flew through a window, while “Family Anthropology” considers one’s place as a settler returning to what is considered their homeland.

This Side of West is a literary magazine published by undergraduate creative writing students at the University of Victoria. I’d like to thank editor-in-chief Stephanie Toth for helping me structure these poems.
