six places i’ve lived and one where i almost died

SAD Mag recently published my poem “six places i’ve lived and one where i almost died” in Issue 34, “Home.” This poems explores how attachment forms to places, through both joy and trauma. By never directly naming which is the place that the speaker nearly died, my hope is to create a tension between all of these locations. Any could be dangerous.

Huge thank you to editor Kayla MacInnis for selecting this poem for inclusion! The poem is accompanied by the amazing art of Jess Stanley. The issue’s cover art, used as the image on my portfolio page, is Baba Yaga by Syd Danger.
