“Gary Calls the Phone Sex Line” is a micro fiction story about longing for connection. Despite the name, the story is not about sex, nor does it feature any sexual content, but rather centers on a lonely person phoning the titular phone sex line just to talk to somebody. Other themes include attitudes towards sex work and the inability to communicate.

I wrote this story as an undergraduate at the University of Victoria, and published it under the title “Sex Line” with The Warren Undergraduate Review in 2015.
